Unlike whitening toothpastes, which just remove stain, whitening at a dental practice can actually change the colour of your teeth. We use peroxides which are medically safe to whiten the teeth in the correct manner to change your smile for the better. We can use it to just get them back to where they were when you were younger or to brighten them to be more outstanding. Our dentists will go through the procedures when they know your teeth are in good condition to have the whitening done.
With take home bleach, we custom make trays for your mouth and then we show you how to do it and you bleach your teeth at home overnight in about 2-3 weeks. ZOOM whitening is a Phillips product where we use a light to enhance the bleach and we can then get your teeth 7 shades lighter in surgery within 2 hours.

What is whitening?
Whitening gels contain peroxide which is only available on prescription from a medical practitioner in the UK. A dentist is a perfect person to do that. We custom make whitening trays to make sure they fit your teeth perfectly and prescribe the right gel for. you to get your teeth whiter.
Is it different from whitening toothpastes?
Is it! Whitening toothpastes actually only removes surface stain whereas whitening with a professional dentist can actually get your teeth to change colour and be whiter.
Is it safe?
Completely, in the correct hands it is safe. The dentist can make sure that your teeth and gums are healthy and can show you how to use it correctly. The dentist checks along the way that everything is going how it should.
How does it work?
The whitening gels safely next to your teeth use oxygen to remove stain particles and allow your teeth to go back to a whiter colour. There are different strengths of gels and different timings to do the whitening. The dentist will find the best treatment plan for you.
How long does it take?
It usually takes a few weeks with home bleaching. Some teeth take a little bit longer and if you have larger fillings or crowns int he mouth we might need to refil or replace them to get all the teeth to look the same. We can use ZOOM laser whitening if you are in a hurry and need whiter teeth in a few days.
What is ZOOM?
ZOOM is a type of whitening by Phillips that uses a laser light to speed up the process of whitening. We can usually get your teeth whiter in house within 2 hours.
What can I eat whilst whitening?
You can eat and drink at all the normal times, but while you are whitening we do suggest that you keep the to foods and drink that stain less. Red wines, curries and tomato based foods might stain and as we are trying to whiten teeth, then we suggest that within that time, you choose things that are without those colours just for the few weeks.
How much does it cost?
It costs around £350 for home whitening and £520 for ZOOM whitening in the surgery.
