They are useful as we do not have to crown other teeth to hold them in like a bridge would. They are often a cheaper option to bridges and they can be used to replace all teeth as in complete dentures.
The NHS offer these as a treatment but there are also other types of dentures that can be really useful.
Acrylic dentures are hard and use surface area to stay in place so they can be easy to make and cost effective.
We also make metal cobalt chrome dentures and Valplast dentures which can really enhance how people wear dentures.

DENTURE FAQs
How long does it take to make a denture?
It usually takes about 5 appointments to make a denture usually a week apart. Chrome ones and Valplast ones take a week longer usually as the laboratory time is longer.
How much do they cost?
If you have an NHS place then you can have an acrylic denture and the NHS will charge you a band 3 charge of £319.10
Other dentures cost between £450-£700.
When do I wear a denture?
You usually wear a denture from when you have brushed your other teeth in the morning until. you go to bed. It is not ideal to sleep in them as you need to give your mouth and gums a rest.
How do I clean a denture?
You should be able to wear your denture all day. When you take it out to sleep, you would clean it in soapy water and then soak it in a cleaning solution usually for 15 minutes and then leave it somewhere safe overnight. Different brands of cleaning solutions have different times, so always check the instructions. Your denture is them ready to pop in after you have cleaned your teeth in the morning.
How long does a denture last?
A denture can last a really long time and chrome ones and Valplast ones have the best longevity. It is usual though to replace them every 5-7 years as the teeth can wear down and your mouth changes so the fit may not be as good as it used to be.
If you gain or lose a lot weight or have changed some medicines, these can affect how dentures fit and so they might need to be replaced due to those reasons.
